A Coolrooms refrigerated system continuously recirculates unfiltered air through Forced Draft Coolers (FDC) that expose the coils to high levels of contamination. When combined with the natural condensation which forms on the FDC it creates the perfect environment for microbial proliferation (biofilm). Over time, the mechanical components of a Coolroom can also wear out, but this doesn’t always mean they need to be replaced.

If regular maintenance is neglected or ignored completely, a Coolrooms system efficiency and performance will decline, leading to product spoilage or the risk of bacterial infection.
